As the state prepares for the last lap of political campaigns ahead of Saturday’s Governorship and state Assembly elections, three persons have been feared killed. Among the three killed is a ward 10 councilor, by name Sulaiman Ariyibi, in Ibadan South East local government of Oyo state who was said to be shot dead by suspected thugs working with the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo state. The Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, on Thursday, approved a half-day holiday for workers in the employ of the state on Friday, March 17, 2023 ahead of Saturday’s elections. The Oyo State Pilgrims’ Welfare Board (Muslim Wing) has said it will close the collection of the 2023 initial hajj fare from intending pilgrims on March 20, 2023. This was disclosed by the Chairman of the Board, Professor Sayed Malik through a statement released to the press today in Ibadan.
